چکیده

The three antihistaminic drugs investigated are of diverse chemical types, and many chemical methods have been reported for their assay. Cyproheptadine hydrochloride (CPH) is a serotonin and a histamine antagonist with anticholinergic and sedative effects. It also blocks voltage sensitive calcium channels in pancreatic islet cells and smooth muscle. CPH is also used as an appetite stimulant to assist weight gain. The majority of methods found in the literature for the determination of cyproheptadine were devoted to biological materials. Methods for the assay of the drug in pharmaceutical preparations are few and include uv-spectrophotometry , visible spectrophotometry 2−4, ion-selective electrode based potentiometry, gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography9−11, though the last two techniques are not always widely available. Methdilazine hydrochloride (MDH) belongs to the phenothiazine class of drugs. Medicinally, it has been used as an antihistamine and it is also found to possess antipruritic action. Determination of Trimethoprim Based on Charge-Transfer Complexes Formation

A spectrophotometric study concerning the interaction between Trimethoprim (TMP) ,Sulfamethoxazole (SFMx), as n-donor and 2,3-dichloro-5,6- dicyano-P-benzoquinine (DDQ) and chloranilic acid (CA) as π-acceptor were been performed at 25°C. The results of interaction of CA and DDQwith TMP indicate the formation of a 1:1, 1:2, charge transfer complexes through non equilibrium reactions. In the case...

Spectrophotometric Determination of Astemizole and Loratadine Based on Charge-Transfer Complex Formation with Chloranilic Acid

A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the assay of two antihistamines, astemizole and loratadine, is described. The determination was based on the formation of chargetransfer complexes between chloranilic acid as a p acceptor and the studied drugs as n-donors in acetonitrile solvent. The spectra, various experimental parameters, composition and formation constant of the complexes...

Spectrophotometric determination of atropine, pilocarpine and strychnine with chloranilic acid.

In dioxan-chloroform medium the acceptor chloranilic acid forms 1:1 molecular complexes with the alkaloids atropine, pilocarpine and strychnine, with maximum absorption at 535, 527.5 and 535 nm respectively. Conformity with Beer's law allows the use of the complexes for the assay of these drugs.

Spectrophotometric Determination of Ambroxol Hydrochloride and Its Formulations Based on Charge Transfer Complex Reaction

A rapid, sensitive and accurate spectrophotometric method for the determination of ambroxol was described in this study. The current method was developed based on charge transfer complexation of ambroxolol (AMB) with the chloranilic acid (CAA). The formed intensed Colored complex was measured at 430 nm and used for determination of AMB and its formulations.Under optimized experimental condition...
